With the ever increasing use of audio conferencing in our day to day business, it should come as no surprise to us that the technology used, for audio conferencing and telecom, is constantly improving. By looking at trends in various fields, we can see that there are some expected developments on the horizon from improvements in 5G, to the advent of Machine Learning.
Here are just a few changes that we may see in the near future.
With the increasing accessibility of 5G, we can expect much lower latency and enhanced audio visual quality. With 5G’s ability to lower latency, audio calls will experience less delays and disruptions, especially when in real time audio conferencing. 5G’s ability to handle higher bandwidth will allow users to have better audio even when there is higher traffic, or during larger virtual meetings. With these improvements in audio conferencing, we will see that there will be an increase in scalability where now more callers will be able to use the same platform with much less degradation to the quality of the call.
Some machine learning is already implemented, especially when it comes to transcription services, and as machine learning gets better, the transcriptions become more and more accurate. Even in noisy environments, machine learning allows the artificial intelligence to distinguish between background noise and human speech, to suppress the background noise in the conference call. Probably the ultimate hope of integrating artificial intelligence into audio conferencing, is that there will eventually come a point, where real time language translation will be possible.
Technology is constantly growing, and we at Streamlined can’t wait to see where it goes, and hope you’ll be there to see it with us.
